Craniosacral Therapy

Restoring Health through Craniosacral Therapy with David Ellis

Craniosacral Therapy Treatment Explained

Cranio-sacral Therapy utilises our bodies’ self healing mechanisms to re-establish good health. Such mechanisms include not only our Body’s fluid sytems but also our internal pharmacy.

Craniosacral therapy sometimes includes dealing non-threateningly with the memory of past incidents in our lives: emotional, traumatic and accidents: that are stored by our Body’s energy systems as Tissue memory, rather like information being stored in the hard disks of our computers. Dysfunction, illness and pain frequently result from these stored incidents in later years. Craniosacral Therapists non-invasively tap into these memory banks enabling your tissues to release the memory and restore health.

There is neither massage nor manipulation involved: simply gentle touch while the person being treated remains fully clothed.

Q. How is the therapy carried out?

A. You lay fully clothed on your back on a therapy table. There is little for you to do other than relax and enjoy the therapy!

Q. How long does each therapy session last and how frequently?

A. Each session takes between 35 and 60 minutes for adults with babies and children typically taking about 30 minutes. Times vary according to the condition being treated. If, as is usual, more than one treatment is required the first few treatments are likely to be once weekly, moving on to less frequent treatments as the condition being treated improves.

Q. Is there an Age Limit?

A. There is no age limit!

Q. What if I fall asleep?

A. Patients often do – the treatment is that relaxing! Sleep does not hinder the treatment and often this is the only chance busy people have of taking 40 winks!

Q. What are the chances of success?

A. Again this varies with the condition being treated. I give you an honest assessment of the extent to which I think I can help you at the end of the first treatment and then join in discussion with you about the next step (usually frequency of treatment, when the patient decides to go ahead).

Q. Is everything kept confidential?

A. Absolutely ‘yes’. It is necessary for me to keep a written record of my treatments and these are for my eyes only and are kept under lock and key. Patients are welcome to see their record if they wish.

Q. Is it possible to talk to people you’ve treated to obtain their assessment of you and craniosacral therapy?

A. With their permission, ‘yes’.
